Colburn and Catterick Garrison Cubs learn about rugby

Date: 18th May 2023 Author: Alex Sykes
Colburn and Garrison Cubs took part in a joint activity at Richmond Rugby club.

At the start of the night, the Cubs were taught about the Rugby motto –

We play to win but not at all costs and recognise both endeavour and achievement.

They then learnt how to handle the rugby ball and how to place the ball down when trying to  score a try. This was followed by playing a game of Tag rugby. At the end of the night, they all received a medal for their hard work and Frans from Colburn Cub was awarded the player of the night.
All the Cubs had the biggest smiles on their faces by the end of the night.
A big thank you to Richmond Rugby club for running this event. We will definitely be back for another session.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
