Cubs were originally called Wolfs Cubs and this section was started over 100 years ago.
Cubs is for young people between the ages of 8 and 10½. They wear a dark green sweatshirt with their Group necker.
Cubs normally meet once a week and their programme is designed to present every young person with new challenges. It is packed with fun and adventure and, during their time in the Pack, Cub Scouts will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing, collecting and trips out.
Cubs have a Promise, Law and a Motto. Each Cub Scout will be encouraged to work towards gaining some of the challenge and activity badges that are available and these can be worn on their uniform. They will also have the opportunity to go camping for a full weekend.
Richmondshire operates 7 Cub packs at Barton, Catterick Garrison, Catterick Village, Colburn, Leyburn, Richmond and Fremington (Reeth).
Please contact us for details of dates, venues and start times if your child is interested in joining Cubs in our District or, if you have got an interest in helping us out, then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
