St. George’s Day and new Queen’s Scout
28 April 2019
This year Richmondshire Scouting celebrated St. George’s Day with a difference when over 100 Scouts, Cubs and Beavers took part in some traditional and not so traditional activities which included have a go at archery, making whistles from discarded shotgun cartridges, playing team games, learning fire lighting skills and outdoor cooking.
The day concluded with a service to officially mark the occasion of St George’s Day with the usual parade led by the Union flag, the St. George’s flag and the Richmondshire flag.
One of our young people, Bex Hornby from 1st Barton Group, also celebrated St. George’s Day by attending the service at Windsor castle as she has achieved her Queen’s Scout Award.
Congratulation – a lot of hard work.
