Litter Pick as part of the County Challenge

3 June 2019

Swaledale Scouts collected litter around Healaugh and Skelgate Lane near Reeth School as part of the County Challenge. They  are working towards their Environmental Badge. Thank you to the BMC for the use of their Hills and Oceans clean up kit.

The culprits: black plastic sheets, nylon string, food wrappers (stuffed in walls), drink cans, plastic bottles and cups and plastic from cars smashed up on the road plus those dreadfully frail plastic road bollards! Lots of things for small animals to get trapped in.

Environmental Day was on  5th June.

Please help by joining in and collecting rubbish from our paths, lanes and river banks. Otherwise it breaks down, flows into the rivers and out into the sea polluting along the way.
